Hydraulic fifth wheel makes drag and drop too easy
15/07/2007 |
|
Now Westgate's drivers can hitch and lift laden or unladen trailers without having to manipulate the landing legs with D'Angelo's Hydraulic Lift fifth wheel assembly. In addition, to make things even easier, the fifth wheel's release lever is assisted too and because all the controls are located in the cab the entire hitch and drop procedure can be done without leaving the truck.
Both of these features improve greatly the rate at which trailers can be lifted and moved in a busy yard or warehouse environment. This means that a conversion of a existing unit is now an attractive and economic alternative to purchasing a specialised vehicle.
Westgate currently are using a D'Angelo Maxi 50 fifth wheel on the novel bottom assembly, which is a D'Angelo and Australian first.

New site additions: Maxi Greaseless and Water Tank Conversion
3/07/2007 |
|
If you are looking a cleaner hitch you might want to check out the Maxi 50 'greaseless' fifth wheel. Tough, low friction plastic plates protect the top plate and eliminate the need for greasing the area. This will save on both grease and effort when having to clean up later for a maintenance inspection
With a D-Value of 190kN the Maxi 50 fifth wheel in its greaseless configuration is a great all purpose performer and suitable for most applications.

D'Angelo recently designed and engineered a solution for a water tanker which allows the truck to drop its tank on site and thus complete other tasks whilst the tank is drained or filled. This has obvious benefits for the owner driver.
